Psychological Assessment

What are Psychological Assessments ?

Assessments can help people figure out if one has a problem that needs to be handled, whether it’s by learning more about it or seeking professional treatment. Our psychology evaluations are primarily based on scientific papers or study references in the subject area. It will serve as a guide for your therapy and self-evaluation.

Psychometric and psycho-diagnostic evaluations are critical in designing and launching therapeutic interventions, as well as in clarifying diagnoses. Our team of experts use standardized testing methodologies to better identify the challenges that clients have in terms of intellectual integration and psychosocial or emotional well-being. This includes recognizing the range of concerns that may be obstructing the patients’ beneficial psychological development.

Type of Psychological Assessment

Intelligence (IQ) Testing

Intelligence is a term that refers to the ability (IQ) IQ testing incorporates both performance and verbal activities to assess intellectual aptitude across tasks and cultural fairness in interpretation. These evaluations are carried out utilizing standardized examinations for various age groups. Some of the assessment  tools are Malins Intelligence Scale for Indian Children (MISIC) , Bhatia Battery of Performance Intelligence  and Verbal Adult Intelligence Test (VAIS).

Specific Learning Disability

The assessment of a client with a particular learning disability, or SLD, entails administering a battery of tests to determine their level of difficulty with specific academic and perceptual skills. Attention, language (by reading, writing, spelling, expression, and understanding), arithmetic, and perceptual gestalt and accuracy are all factors in the SLD evaluation. Some of the assessment  tools are NIMHANS SLD Battery and Wide Range Achievement Test ( WRAT 5).

Personality Assessment

Personality assessment comprises self-report and projective measurements, as well as tests that reveal numerous aspects of a client’s qualities and features. These are frequently used to help clients acquire self-awareness or clinicians get insight into the personality patterns of highly guarded clients. Some of the assessment  tools are 16-pf, MMPI and MCMI -III.

Neuropsychological Functioning

Clients who exhibit indications of brain injury or degeneration are given a neuropsychological evaluation. Neuropsychological factors relevant to the frontal, parietal-occipital, and temporal lobes are assessed by a series of subtests. Some of the assessment  tools are Trail Making Test (TMT), Draw A Clock Test (DCT),  Mini Mental Status Examination (MMSE) and Bender Visual-Motor Gestalt Test (BVMGT).

Clients who report or display behavioural or psycho-emotional patterns characteristic of mixed symptomatology may benefit from psycho-diagnostic examinations to help clarify diagnoses. As part of diagnostic examinations, psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, and personality disorders are tested.

Following a thorough clinical interview and history gathering session, standardised screens, self-report, and projective tests are administered. Personal, internal, conscious, and unconscious levels, as well as triggering causes, relationships, and environmental components, are all taken into account.
